d-fine Leipzig

projection mapping

For Script & Tell, we created a projection mapping experience that kicked off d-fine’s event in style. In the grand hall of the Kongresshalle am Zoo Leipzig, we brought a 25x18 meter stage relief to life with a 9-minute show full of motion, light, and atmosphere. The result: a bold visual statement that set the tone for the entire event.

The show was made up of seven distinct parts, some of which were accompanied by live performers and contortion artists. For each segment, we designed and animated custom visuals tailored precisely to the 3D relief of the stage. The key was finding the right balance – between bold, high-impact moments and quieter visual sequences that supported the flow of the performance.

MOTION DESIGN

What I love about this field, practise, skill, way to portrait information - lets call it by ist name: motion design - is the ability to give graphics life, to place them in context, and to allow them to convey a message. Even the simplest animation can elevate a concept that originated in graphic design to a whole new level give it the change to breathe.

What makes motion design so interesting to me is the challenge of fully understanding the information, message, or intention that needs to be communicated, and then translating it into a visual language. It’s about identifying the core elements and distilling the idea behind the concept. Once that’s clear, the creativity comes in—figuring out how to structure a series of actions that effectively convey the point. Precision is key, whether it’s timing, action, frames, shapes, images, or any other visual elements. Every piece of the puzzle needs to come together to bring the idea to life, guiding the viewer’s attention and ensuring clear communication. Ultimately, motion design should make the design language more impactful, fun, and memorable.

MOTION DESIGN

have fun exploring my work!
Everything you’ll find here is the result of work from university, personal explorations or client work created during my time in employment.

REASONS I LIKE WORKING ON FILM PROJECTS

Working in a narritive context and in this disciplin is diffrent and it needs way more elements zu intersect and work smoothly together. i love how many karriers are building one symbiosis to produce somthing to let people dream, feel emotion, entertain, educate, scare, fall in love, or facinate. All aspects add up in the end to create a grand exerp in the end. And all cant do it without the others.

Because im working on Filmprojects as one of the last departments its se satus where you see everything coming together. Giving the pictures life and an atmousphere is alwyas a metamorphosis.

Whith my interest in typography i felt drawn to expereiment in after effects. I saw a reel online whiche made text really dynemic and gave it mor deph and also mor purpous in its meaning. Not only did it say what was written but gave it a character. SO paired whis this intention in mind i was looking for some features i didnt use yet and found some expressions to play around with and other tips and tricks to get moreflexible and better ingain varity in effects and ways to use my bandwith in motion.
